So this is my personal site; which I’m determined to keep going for the long term. I don't plan on pressuring myself to post here regularly, only when something moves me enough that a few tweets just won’t cover. As I don’t use Facebook for various idealogical and ethical reasons, this site, as well as my Twitter and Flickr accounts, are intended to keep friends and family up to date. Just add the site’s feed to your feed reader (frig, I hope you have a feed reader, if not then you are doing the internet wrong. I recommend Feedly.) and you can keep up with me that way. Any big updates I do I will of course email to my close friends and relatives as I always have, except this way they can be a little prettier and properly illustrated. I hope you enjoy, and can learn a thing or two about me and what I do.

I've been through many a personal site before on a variety of platforms, usually Wordpress or Tumblr, but I've finally settled on Squarespace. While I love the total control that Wordpress allows, I often found myself getting bogged down in code; having too much fun editing that and not enough time actually generating content. Squarespace at least deals with the PHP side of things enough that I only find myself really needing to play with the CSS. Probably the biggest negative with Squarespace is the lack of an Asset Manager or any way to easily externally hosted images, especially while I am on Stewart Island's extremely slow connection to the internet. Hopefully one appears in the near future.
Cheers, and enjoy.
