Over the past year, from November 4th 2015 through November 2nd 2016, I have worked with the Kākāpō Recovery program through New Zealand's Department of Conservation on Codfish Island / Whenua Hou. During that time I've gathered experiences, stats, videos, and many, many photos (over 200Gb!), many of which I've shared over Twitter. Those tweets however were very much 'in the now', and I wanted to create something that lasted longer and my tweet-illiterate family, friends, and potential future DOC Rangers and volunteers could use to gain a bit of insight into the place, and the life and work of a very specific type of DOC Ranger.
